Bio
Dwight David Yoakam rose to prominence in 1986 with his record-breaking debut album, Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc.. Boasting a total of ten studio albums on Reprise Records and other labels, Yoakam has earned two Grammy Awards and one Academy of Country Music award. His greatest success came with This Time, the triple-platinum certified album released in 1993. Yoakam's eclectic musical style encompasses elements of neotraditional country, honky-tonk, Bakersfield sound, bluegrass music, country rock, and rockabilly. As a songwriter, Yoakam has earned multiple hits and covers, while also collaborating with the likes of Beck, John Mellencamp, k.d. lang, Ralph Stanley, and members of Alison Krauss & Union Station. Onscreen, Yoakam has appeared in numerous films such as Red Rock West and Wedding Crashers, as well as the directorial debut South of Heaven, West of Hell. Additionally, he has featured in the TV series P.S. I Luv U, Under the Dome, and the Amazon Prime Video original series Goliath.
