Professional Audio Production

Audio Production & Sound Staffing

Seattle Entertainment Group (SEG) provides professional audio production staffing for concerts, corporate events, festivals, and live productions where sound quality, reliability, and show execution matter.

Our audio crews support everything from system deployment and tuning to front-of-house mixing, monitor coverage, RF coordination, and stage-level execution, ensuring clean signal flow and consistent sound from load-in through strike. We staff experienced engineers and technicians who understand how audio systems operate in real venues, work smoothly with production teams and artists, and adapt quickly as show conditions change.

Experienced Audio Crews for Live Event Execution

Strong audio production depends on crews who understand how systems are deployed, how departments interact, and how sound changes once a room fills with people. SEG audio staffing is built to support clean load-ins, efficient soundchecks, and stable show operation by placing the right engineers and technicians at each stage of the process. Our teams are accustomed to advancing events, coordinating with venues and touring personnel, and maintaining organized workflows under real-world conditions, so audio remains consistent and dependable from first cue to final strike.

Simple & Straightforward

How Our Audio Staffing Process Works

We keep audio staffing organized, practical, and aligned with how productions actually operate. Our process focuses on understanding the technical scope of the event and placing experienced audio personnel where they add the most value, so sound remains consistent and issues are addressed before they affect the show.

01

Review Event Scope and Audio Requirements

We start by reviewing event details such as venue type, audience size, load-in and load-out schedules, show format, and any broadcast or recording needs. When available, we review advances, input lists, stage plots, and production schedules to understand staffing requirements and potential constraints.

02

Build an Audio Staffing Plan and Quote

Based on the demands of the event, we recommend appropriate audio roles, crew size, and call times. Staffing is built around actual show needs rather than fixed packages, with consideration for system complexity, changeovers, RF requirements, and coordination with other departments. Quotes are provided clearly and adjusted as scope evolves.

03

Day-Of-Show Execution

On show day, our audio crews arrive prepared and ready to integrate with your production team, venue staff, and other departments. We support load-in, soundcheck, rehearsals, live execution, and strike according to the agreed plan, maintaining communication and workflow discipline to keep the production running smoothly.

Questions & Answers

FAQs – Audio Production & Sound Staffing

Can I book audio staff without renting equipment?

Audio staffing is available as a standalone service. Many events already have touring systems, in-house AV teams, or third-party rental providers in place, and our audio crew integrates directly into those environments. Our FOH Engineers (A1), Monitor Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Audio Techs (A2) are accustomed to stepping into existing signal flow, console layouts, stage patch, and house systems, while respecting established workflows, department heads, and production management. This approach is common in casinos, theaters, convention centers, and touring shows where equipment and labor are sourced separately.

Do you provide both FOH and monitor engineers?

FOH Engineers (Front of House / A1) and Monitor Engineers are staffed based on the needs of the event, artist requirements, and stage complexity. Some productions require a dedicated monitor world with wedges, IEMs, side fills, and drum fills, while others may combine roles depending on scale. We also staff Systems Engineers / System Techs to handle PA deployment, system tuning, delay alignment, and overall audio consistency in rooms with complex acoustics or large audience coverage.

Can your audio crews support touring productions?

Our audio staff regularly supports touring engineers and road crews by providing reliable local labor that understands touring etiquette, chain of command, and show-call structure. This includes assisting with load-in, console patching, mic placement, line check, soundcheck, changeovers, and strike. Local support often includes A2s, Patch Techs, Stage Patch / Snake Techs, RF Techs, and Audio Hands who keep the deck clean, cables dressed, and transitions moving efficiently without disrupting the tour’s established workflow.

How do you handle RF coordination for wireless microphones and IEMs?

Wireless systems are managed by experienced RF Technicians who handle frequency coordination, scanning, and real-time monitoring. This includes managing handhelds, lavaliers, headworn mics, bodypacks, and IEM systems using antenna distribution, combiners, paddles, and diversity antennas. RF planning takes into account venue size, building materials, nearby RF traffic, broadcast activity, and the total channel count. Backup frequencies and spare mics are planned whenever possible to minimize risk during live events.

Do you provide playback and show cue support?

Playback Operators are available for events that require walk-in music, stings, walk-up cues, timecode-driven elements, or pre-produced tracks. Playback support often integrates with the run of show (ROS), timecode, lighting cues, and video playback to keep transitions tight and predictable. This role is common for corporate presentations, award shows, festivals, and concerts with programmed intros or interstitial content.

Can you support recording, broadcasting, or streaming audio?

Many events require audio beyond the in-room mix. We staff Recording Engineers and Broadcast Audio / Stream Audio Engineers to provide clean program feeds, broadcast mixes, ISO tracks, mix-minus feeds, and IFB when required. This includes coordinating with video switchers, streaming platforms, and production teams to ensure audio quality translates properly to recordings, live streams, and remote audiences, not just the PA.

How do you handle audio patching and signal flow on complex events?

Audio signal flow is managed through detailed input lists, patch lists, and stage plots. Our crew handles analog and digital snakes, stageboxes, splits, redundant lines, Dante, AES, MADI, and other transport formats as required. Patch Techs and Snake Techs ensure clean routing between stage, FOH, monitors, and broadcast positions, while maintaining backup paths and clear labeling to reduce troubleshooting during live moments.

Can audio staffing be adjusted if the event scope changes?

Live productions evolve, and staffing sometimes needs to change with them. Adjustments may include adding RF channels, expanding monitor mixes, supporting additional presenters, or extending show schedules. When possible, crew size, roles, and call structure can be modified to reflect updated needs, subject to availability and scheduling constraints. Clear communication during the advance process helps minimize last-minute surprises.

How far in advance should audio staff be booked?

Booking earlier provides the greatest flexibility, especially for peak seasons, festivals, multi-day conferences, or events requiring specialized roles like Systems Engineers, RF Techs, or Broadcast Audio Engineers. Short-notice requests can often be accommodated depending on crew availability, scope, and location, though complex events benefit from additional advance time to properly plan staffing, signal flow, and show execution.

How do you ensure audio safety and compliance during events?

Audio operations are managed with attention to safety, intelligibility, and compliance. This includes gain staging for speech, feedback control, SPL management, hearing protection considerations, and adherence to venue noise ordinances when applicable. Crew leads coordinate with production management to maintain safe workflows during load-in, show operation, and load-out, especially when working around power distro, cabling, and shared stage space.
