Bio
Kelly Clarkson is an internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter, author, and television personality. Rising to fame after winning the first season of American Idol in 2002, the Texas-native quickly gained a record deal with RCA. Her debut single, "A Moment Like This”, topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and became the country's best-selling single of 2002, making its way onto her debut studio album, Thankful.
Clarkson looked to reinvent herself by shifting towards a more pop rock sound for her second studio album, Breakaway. The album was a smashing success, supporting four top-ten singles in the US and selling 12 million copies across the globe. It even earned two Grammy Awards! My December followed suite and proved to be a tighter control of her creative vision.
All I Ever Wanted and Stronger served as her fourth and fifth studio albums, respectively - Stronger making her the first artist to win the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album twice. In total, Clarkson has had 11 top-ten singles in the US, nine top-ten singles in Canada, the UK, and Australia, and sold over 25 million albums and 45 million singles worldwide. She has also been the recipient of three MTV Video Music Awards, four American Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music Awards, five Daytime Emmy Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The powerhouse multi-talented entertainer has since gone on to lend her vocal talents as a coach on The Voice and host her own talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.
