Bio

Roger Waters has explored a dark and dismal view of the contemporary world in his work. His father, Eric Fletcher Waters, was killed in the British attack on Anzio, Italy during World War II, an event that inspired several of Roger's songs. Originally part of the group The Abdabs, the musician eventually became the face of Pink Floyd and developed into the chief lyricist starting with the album The Dark Side of The Moon and then continuing with Wish You Were Here and Animals. With The Wall, Roger went beyond lyrics and contributions to the music as well. Considered a solo album by many, The Final Cut consists mostly of his own work, though with some support from other notable musicians. After two well-received solo ventures (The Pro's and Con's Of Hitch Hiking and Radio KAOS), Waters created a highly successful revival of The Wall for charity and also collaborated with Ron Geesin for the movie soundtrack When The Wind Blows.
