Bio

Kevin Parker, the multi-instrumentalist from Australia, is the force behind psychedelic music project TAME Impala. The touring act of the same name features Parker (on guitar and vocals), Dominic Simper (guitar and synthesiser), Jay Watson (synthesiser, vocals, guitar), Cam Avery (bass guitar, vocals) and Julien Barbagallo (drums, vocals). TAME Impala are affiliated with Pond - another Australian psychedelic rock band - sharing respective members and collaborators; Nick Allbrook being a former live member of TAME Impala. Signed to Modular Recordings at the outset, they are now in collaboration with Interscope Records (USA) and Fiction Records (UK). Their debut album Innerspeaker arrived in 2010 and was certified gold in Australia, while the follow-up project Lonerism sought platinum status and a Grammy Award nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. TAME Impala's third album, Currents, saw significant success: winning two ARIA Awards for Best Rock Album and Album of the Year, plus APRA Song of the Year 2016 with first track 'Let It Happen'. The fourth studio album The Slow Rush was released in 2020 and earned TAME Impala five trophies at the ARIA Music Awards.
