Bio

Jackson Wan Kwong, also known as "the Temple Street Prince", boasts a unique origin story. Born in Cholon, Saigon - 1949 to a family of Cantonese Vietnamese descent - he was trained as a Cantonese opera singer. But, as the Vietnam War heated up, his family moved to British Hong Kong, and Wan switched to pop songs instead. His tune lyrics, often laced with vulgar language, depicted the lives of the HK working class. From 1990s onwards, Wan has collaborated with many senior singers, performing in pubs and on TV shows. Fast forward to 2002, and he released an album called "Ignoring Father" - and he still gives concerts today.
